Training equipment is important for any fire department, and one area department has come up with a creative way to try to fund a new training tool for its firefighters. It's all part of the effort to lower the fire department’s ISO rating. Gosnell Fire Department currently sits at a 4. But every new training tool they have under their belt helps in lowering that rating. So the Friends of the Fire Department group is raffling off a $1,500 wood pellet grill to raise money. All proceeds will go toward a burn building for the department. “What that building does is allow the firefighters to actually train in a similar real-life burning situation,” Asst. Police Chief and Driver for Gosnell Fire Department Andrew Wyles said. “I believe they put hay inside the building and burn it to where it gets smoked up so the firefighters can crawl through it and find it and extinguish it.”
