The Columbia County Conservation District has awarded the Magnolia Fire Department a $1,391.53 Conservation Project Grant. Fire Chief Greg Pinner told Dr. Mark Bryan, president of the Columbia County Board of Directors, that the grant will allow the Magnolia Fire Department to outfit a second truck with the necessary equipment for forest and brush fires. The Conservation Project Grant Program is for individuals, groups, or organizations in Columbia County who are dedicated to conservation efforts and who have an idea or event designed to improve the natural resources in our county. Grant applications can be obtained at the Columbia County Conservation District office, located in the Reynolds Building Room 102J at Southern Arkansas University.
