PHOTO: The Cotter-Gassville Rural Fire Protection District’s newest fire engine will be sure to catch the attention of local residents with its patriotic paint job. Purchased to replace an older 1979 Mack pumper engine, the 2001 Pierce pumper engine will boast new upgrades which will increase efficiency and response times for citizens in the district. Fire Chief Jimmy Morgan told KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News about how the new features can address a wider range of situations they may run into. Along with the improved features, Morgan says the story behind the engine’s patriotic graphics was something they were excited to bring to the area. Funds from the trade of the older Mack engine contributed to the purchase of the newer Pierce engine. Chief Morgan says the department is expecting delivery of the engine by the end of the month.
