VIDEO: A downed power line sparked a fire in the parking lot of a Scottsdale church as nasty monsoon storms rolled through the Valley Monday night. Either wind or lightning likely caused the power line to fall near 86th Street and McDonald Drive around 8 p.m. It sparked and popped as electricity arced across rain puddles for two hours. Neighbors to the north reported being without power. Firefighters and police could only block off the street and watch as the live line burned a string of flame through about 40 feet of the asphalt parking lot. The line was still attached and hanging from a power pole. A car was parked underneath, but the fire didn't make it that far.
