The Clifton Fire Department has had its work cut out for it Saturday, as it was called out to a second house fire in as many weeks. Following a call received at 7:10 a.m., Assistant Chief Felix Macias drove out to the end of Ward Canyon to discover the home in question. “I drove out their myself after the call, and at the end of Ward Canyon on the left saw the house, which I recognized as belonging to Steve Lopez, already fully engulfed,” Macias said. Macias then worked with Clifton Police Officer Shari Aguilar to block both sides of the road from incoming traffic until trucks arrived on the scene at 7:14 a.m.
