VIDEO: No one was injured but at least 25 people are displaced following an apartment fire near Indian School Road and 28th Street in Phoenix Thursday morning. Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second and third floors when they arrived around 7:45 a.m. Firefighters cut holes in the roof to vent the fire. Crews encountered a lot of challenges fighting the fire. "These apartment buildings are deep so it takes a lot of hose to get to them," Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Aaron Ernsberger said. "Hydrants are off the main road so it's a long way to get water supply plus it's a heavy rescue profile. The hairs on your neck are standing up a little bit and these firefighters did a tremendous job." Three apartments were damaged by fire. Nine units have smoke and water damage. The American Red Cross is on the scene to help the displaced residents. There is no word as to the cause of the fire. Indian School Road is closed in the area.
