VIDEO: Firefighters battled a large mobile-home fire near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road early Thursday, and neighbors said it started with an explosion they could feel. The home was destroyed, but horses in the back of the property were rescued by their owner, Phoenix Fire Department officials said. The entire property was fully engulfed in fire when firefighters arrived. They reported hearing further explosions as they battled the blaze. Fire investigators say the homeowners were gone, but their son was at the house Wednesday night doing work. He has yet to be located for questioning. Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby properties. Two neighbors suffered minor injuries while evacuating their homes and were treated on the scene.
