PHOTO: At least one child was taken to the hospital after three cars crashed into each other in Phoenix Tuesday morning. About a dozen firefighters and paramedics evaluated some people who were seen sitting on the sidewalk along 19th Avenue south of Mandalay Lane. Our news helicopter showed three vehicles had rear-ended each other and the wreckage was in the middle of the street. The condition of the child wasn’t known. Phoenix Police Sgt. Vince Lewis warned motorists to consider taking an alternate route. Traffic restrictions were expected to remain in place through the morning commute. Officers were taking measurements and getting statements so it was too early to determine what led to the collisions.
