As the search for a new fire chief at the Rio Rico Fire District continues, firefighter Adam Amezaga has stepped up to fill the position on an interim basis. Amezaga, who was appointed as interim chief on May 1 with the recommendation of retired Chief Les Caid, has spent 25 years with the district. He most recently served as batallion chief since 2010, a position in which he was responsible for day-to-day and emergency medical services operations, according to a news release from RRFD.
