Residents should now be able to see some work being done above ground on the new Sun City Fire and Medical Department’s fire station. Underground utility work was completed the week of Thanksgiving and footings were scheduled to be poured Nov. 29 at the latest for the two-story structure on the northwest corner of 111th and Michigan avenues in Youngtown. The station is funded by a voter-approved $10 million bond. “We have been delayed by some of the utility work, but we are starting to go vertical,” said Ron Deadman, Sun City fire chief.
