A family of four is "lucky" to have escaped a house fire late Monday night which Tucson Fire investigators say didn't have smoke detectors. Tucson Fire received multiple 911 calls reporting the fire that started on the roof of a home in the 1300 Block of East Wyoming Street, near Irvington Road and Park Avenue, just before midnight. When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out the front window and the four residents, ranging in age from 30s to 70s, had already escaped the fire. It took 23 firefighters eight minutes to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries reported to the residents or firefighters. The Red Cross will help the family with a temporary place to stay. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
