When Corrie Cooperman decided to throw her hat into the ring and run for the Sedona Fire District Governing Board, it was something brand new for her, and needless to say, out of her comfort zone. “Running for the board was an eye-opener since it was a real campaign after three people had been recalled and wanted to retain their seats,” she said. “So I ran against one of those people and there were quite a few debates and public forums. I’m a moderately introverted person and I had to get up there, meet the public and speak. It was definitely a new experience for me.”
