PHOTO: An El Mirage fire official said a family of six are without a home after a house fire Sunday morning. The fire occurred before 9 a.m. in the 11800 block of West Rosewood Drive, northeast of El Mirage and Cactus roads. Interim Fire Chief Chris Richardson said the fire originated in the garage and spread through the upstairs and into the attic. The home was occupied at the time of the fire by six residents, who escaped without injury, Mr. Richardson said. However, one dog did not survive, he added. The family will not be able to live in the home. Crews from Surprise and the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority assisted with the fire.
