A fire at an east Phoenix car-rental property was quickly controlled by the Phoenix Fire Department on Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the fire near 24th and Jefferson streets shortly after 6:30 p.m., according to department dispatch reports. The blaze was under control within about 15 minutes, but firefighters remained at the scene addressing hot spots, according to reports from a Republic reporter at the scene.
