The county supervisors on Tuesday heard a presentation about a master’s degree program taught through the Naval Academy. Bullhead City Assistant Fire Chief Scott Neal gave the presentation on the Homeland Security master’s program offered by the Naval Postgraduate Academy. The program is an extension of the Naval Academy. Graduates of the 18-month program must serve an agency for three years. The program is at campuses in Monterey, Calif., and in West Virginia. Neal said applicants must compete against other applicants in their own field. Only 900 people in the world have gone through the program. Members include agents from the Transportation Security Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, customs agents, National Guard members, fire departments, emergency managers and law enforcement.
