The Topock Fire last April consumed more than 2,000 acres of Mohave Valley land, prompting evacuations as state and municipal firefighting agencies spent nearly a week battling the blaze. The good news is the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management doesn’t expect this year to be worse. Arizona experiences about 2,200 wildfires per year which will consume an average of 300,000 acres in Northern Arizona, said Forestry Department spokeswoman Tiffany DaVila.
