A garage fire in Phoenix on Sunday may have started by a vehicle's engine, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Phoenix fire responded to the "aggressive" fire on West Ruth Avenue at approximately 6:20 p.m., where fire crews found the garage engulfed in flames. The fire could be seen a quarter of a mile away, said Captain Jake Van Hook. The two elderly women who occupy the home discovered the fire by opening the interior door to the garage to let in cool air when they saw the flames, said Hook. The two women evacuated the home with their three dogs before firefighters were on scene. Nobody was hurt. An investigation found the fire started in the engine of the vehicle that was parked in the driveway and then spread to the garage.
