The Rio Rico Fire District responded to its third house fire in 30 days after a local student found her family’s residence on fire when she arrived home from school Wednesday afternoon. At about 4:53 p.m. that day, three engines, one tender, two ambulances and Interim Fire Chief Al Flores responded to a structure fire in the area of Camino Caballo and Calle Calabasas, near Damon Park, after the homeowner’s daughter dialed 911 to report the blaze, said Firefighter Jenny Jeong, district spokeswoman. “Upon arrival, visible heavy dark smoke was coming from the house,” she said. “Firefighters executed an interior attack, making entry through an exterior door that was connected to the master bedroom.”
