Navajo County Sheriff K.C. Clark presented “lifesaving awards” to several law enforcement and emergency service personnel Tuesday for their efforts last August in saving a woman from committing suicide. Clark handed out certificates and lifesaving award pins to each of the personnel involved in the operation that concluded with a somewhat happy ending. The ceremony took place at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Navajo County Board of Supervisor’s meeting. Receiving lifesaving awards from Clark were Deputy Jim Hudspeth, Navajo County Sheriff’s Office; Sgt. David Rush, Snowflake/Taylor Police; Officer Brandon Gardner, Snowflake/Taylor Police; Officer Russ Sipes, Arizona Department of Public Safety; Chief Bill “Willie” Nelson, Snowflake Fire Department; Matt Krekeler and Mead Tenney, Taylor/Snowflake Fire and Medical; and Dispatcher Kathleen Lockwood.
