VIDEO: A basement fire forced residents of a Scottsdale apartment complex to evacuate Thursday afternoon, the Scottsdale Fire Department said. Phoenix and Tempe fire crews were called to join in the efforts to extinguish the fire and clear the building of smoke, said Division Chief John Whitney IV, a Scottsdale fire spokesman. Crews were called to the Scottsdale Shadows apartments, at 7800 E. Camelback Road, at 2:34 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
