The Buckskin Fire District Board has learned their district’s property tax rate adopted for fiscal year 2017-18 was too high. At a special meeting Sept. 20 with County Assessor Ana Camacho and County Finance Director Terry Krukemeyer, the board learned that, due to a misreading of the forms submitted by the district, the County Supervisors adopted a tax rate that was higher than what the district had submitted. As explained by Camacho and Krukemeyer, the district’s submitted tax rate was 2.9832 percent of $100 of net assessed value.
