Tucson fire crews responded to a metal recycling plant fire near I-10 and Miracle Mile on Thursday night. Emergency calls first described it as a brushfire but when crews arrived, a pile of metal was on fire, according to the department's Facebook page. Employees from the recycling plant are assisting fire crews by using heavy equipment to move piles of metal so remaining flames can be extinguished. A majority of the flames have been extinguished, the department said. Drivers should avoid the area of I-10 and Miracle Mile as crews are on scene and safety equipment is still on the roads.
