“Station 17 is coming along very nicely,” according to Timber Mesa Fire & Medical District Deputy Chief Randy Chevalier.

The original date of completion was set for late December but has been moved forward to late January due to a delay in framing and block work, explained Chevalier.
“However, the delay didn’t impact the original budget of $2.5 million and we are still on track,” he added.
The fire district is using the building at night to prevent the water pump, plumbing and water tank used to fight fires from freezing. To accomplish this, the crew is utilizing temporary sleeping quarters in the new station.
