Queen Creek’s fire chief is sounding the alarm on the current water pressure shortage in San Tan Valley. The town of Queen Creek has filed direct testimony in the Arizona Corporation Commission docket for the investigation of Johnson Utilities water outages from Fire Chief Vance Gray that calls the reported pressures, flows and reserve capacity “an immediate danger to the health and safety of residents, the general public, firefighters and other first responders as well as property within the Johnson Utility service areas.” Gray’s testimony pointed out numerous instances in which the current pressure could pose a serious threat to firefighting. With such low pressure, sprinkler systems in large buildings will not function properly. Johnson Utilities supplies part of the fire service area.
