House catches fire after stolen vehicle crashes in south Phoenix

VIDEO: Firefighters put out a house fire Saturday night after a stolen vehicle crashed in a south Phoenix neighborhood, police said. The incident began when a officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near 31st Avenue and W. Buckeye Road. The vehicle refused to stop and fled from police, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Police said the vehicle crashed with another vehicle a short distance away near 24th Avenue and W. Buckeye Road. One of the vehicles caught fire and it spread to a nearby house. Firefighters arrived and found a fire in the front of the home, including two vehicles that were on fire in front of the residence. Most of the people inside the home were able to escape uninjured, but one person suffered minor injuries.
