VIDEO: Coworkers and family members said their final goodbyes Tuesday to Justin Doherty, a member of the Phoenix Fire Department who died while training with the Arizona Army National Guard. "Justin was courageous, whether on or off-duty," said Phoenix Fire Department Chief Kara Kalkbrenner. A decorated firefighter and soldier, Doherty was remembered for selfless acts of heroism. He earned the Medal of Valor for helping firefighters at an apartment fire while on his day off. Doherty's colleagues say he also dedicated thousands of hours of his time toward volunteer work. He even once spent a month cleaning and fixing the home of a Vietnam War veteran.
