Show Low EMS says they are in the process of filing a request with the Arizona Department of Heath Services for a proverbial re-match with Timber Mesa Fire & Medical District over an expanded ambulance services contract. “We will file the request for review by the DHS Director on Thursday afternoon,” assured Show Low EMS CEO Jim Broome. “We don’t want to go back to a re-hearing on the Certificate of Necessity (CON), but we do want the Director to take another look at the facts in the case.” Dr. Cara Christ, Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services, issued a decision on June 20 which overturned and literally rejected the 87-page written decision issued by administrative law judge, Thomas Shedden, in favor of Timber Mesa’s proposal to expand ambulance services in the region.
