The way forward for the Bullhead City Fire Department starts with Patrick Moore at the helm, at least for the next three months. The fire district’s governing board voted Tuesday to name Moore interim fire chief and seek internal applicants for the position. The motion included a provision calling for an external search if no qualified internal candidates are found. Moore’s appointment comes after assistant chief Scott Neal served a five-month tenure as acting fire chief. Board Chairman David Cummings said he felt that Moore was the most qualified person to lead the department while a permanent chief is being pursued.
