Joe Zambrano is a firefighter in the Los Angeles area embarking on an approximate 360-mile run from Los Angeles County Fire Museum to Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial State Park in Yarnell, Arizona. He is running to honor the 19 hotshots who lost their lives five years ago on Saturday, fighting in the Yarnell Hill Fire. "I'll be running for about 360-something miles. And that is to honor those guys and to remember those guys," said Zambrano, who goes by Fireman Joe. Zambrano began his trek Saturday, June 23 and will arrive in Yarnell a week later, on June 30. He will be running in full turnout gear in the summer heat, averaging around 50 miles a day.
