VIDEO: According to Green Valley Fire District spokesman L.T. Pratt, a teenage hiker and his 80-pound English bulldog became severely dehydrated on a group hike in Madera Canyon Tuesday, June 26. Pratt said the hiker became separated from the group and decided to leave his dog behind to seek help when she began suffering from signs of heat exhaustion. After rehydrating, the hiker led fire officials back up the trail, but they were unable to find Delilah, the bulldog. Pratt said firefighters continued to search with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department. Officials were able to locate the dog a couple miles up the trail, and are now carrying her down.
