Unattended cooking items on a stove caused a structure fire in Arizona City Wednesday night that caused $70,000 in damage, officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze in the 8800 block of Santa Cruz Boulevard reported at 8:30 p.m.
The Arizona City Fire District responded to the initial call of the structure fire with an engine truck, ladder truck and rescue unit. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the second floor of the multi-unit two story structure, Fire Chief Jeff Heaton.
