Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District's Station 17 held a ribbon cutting on Thursday, Feb. 22, to commemorate the official completion of the new facility located at 6884 Arizona Hwy. 260 in Linden. The district broke ground on June 23, 2017, on the $2.5 million project. According to Timber Mesa Fire & Medical District Deputy Chief Randy Chevalier, the station is designed to accommodate six firefighters, the station is 9,260 square feet in size with an engine bay of 4,425 square feet. The station is designed to house one engine, one rescue (ambulance) vehicle and one brush unit with a 3,200-gallon water tender.
