A two and one-half hour White Mountain Lake Fire District (WMLFD) board meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 28, brought two more resignations to an already fractured fire department and dwindling board of directors. One of those resignations was from interim fire chief, Brandon Green, who was the department’s assistant chief. Although in attendance throughout the meeting, Green did not speak. Instead, he allowed the board chair Bob Riester to announce his resignation, which was effective March 2. Green also declined to comment to the The Independent. The district now has no fire chief and no assistant chief leaving a gaping hole in the leadership of the dwindling department.
