A quick response by firefighters kept a Thursday afternoon fire from causing damage to nearby structures, authorities said. At 1:40 p.m., the Mohave Valley Fire Department received a report of a structure fire in the 8200 block of Boundary Peak Road. Fire Marshal Don Gibson said. Crews arrived to find a vegetation fire that was threatening structures, Gibson said. The blaze may have reached a metal shed, he said, but all nearby homes were spared. “It looked like the guys got on it pretty quick,” Gibson said. He said that the blaze was contained in about 45 minutes.
