The Community Emergency Response Team is looking for volunteers with an interest in helping others at times when they might need it most. CERT members perform an array of tasks. For example, when a disaster occurs, they help with the community’s overall emergency response. Learning first aid and CPR is part of the training. Firefighters, paramedics and emergency personnel also guide volunteers through instruction on assisting other residents during floods, wildfires, windstorms, earthquakes and other widespread emergencies and disasters. CERT members participate alongside first responders in emergency drills, too. “It’s a great way to serve the community,” said Bullhead City Fire Marshal Jim Dykens.
