Following his arrest in late September, Coolidge Fire Chief Mark Dillon has returned to work as head of the Coolidge Fire Department. Dillon was arrested on Sept. 27 by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office on charges of theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, crimes he allegedly committed while acting as the fire chief of the Crown King Fire District. Dillon is accused of charging more than $4,000 in unauthorized personal expenses to a CKFD credit card designed for incidental department expenses. According to YCSO officials, Dillon had previously signed documents with the fire district agreeing to use the card for department-related expenses only.
