A capacity crowd gathered at the White Mountain Lakes Fire Station on Oct. 16 for a public hearing to discuss the possible merger, consolidation or shared services with Timber Mesa Fire and Medical (TMFMD). The White Mountain Lake Fire District’s evaluation of budget revenues and expenditures shows that ongoing operating costs will exceed available revenues in the current fiscal year and the following two fiscal years. As required by law, the district conducted a study of a possible merger. At the meeting to represent the Navajo County Board of Supervisors was the Executive Director for the Arizona Fire District Association, John Flynn, who currently acts as an administrator for the White Mountain Lakes Fire District. Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District’s Fire Chief, Bryan Savage, also came along to help answer questions from the crowd.
