A 2-year-old boy has died after he was pulled from a pool in Phoenix on Sunday evening, firefighters say. Around 6:10 p.m. firefighters received a call reporting a drowning near 24th Street and Southern Avenue, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. The boy was pulled from a backyard pool by family members. The family began performing CPR on the boy, firefighters say. Fire crews took over treatment and transported the child to Maricopa County Hospital in extremely critical condition. The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital.
