Firefighters and police officers often tease back and forth as to whom is the most appreciated among the community. On Tuesday, firefighters sealed that deal.
Motorcycle officer Bernie Villalobos was called to the area of Jefferson Park, east of Mt. Whitney High School, after shots were fired Tuesday morning. He hopped on a patrol car and jumped on to the roof of a carport to find where a bullet landed.
Before he knew it, he was stuck. Officers discouraged Villalobos from jumping down, so they called firefighters to bring a ladder. He safely made it back down to the ground, but not after a big smile on his face and some cheers from the crowd of onlookers.
