County fire crews made quick work of a Desert Hot Springs house fire that displaced two people, including a child. The fire was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the 15700 block of Via Montana, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department. Twenty firefighters responded to a single-story home with heavy smoke visible from the structure. Fire crews had the blaze extinguished at 1:44 p.m., while Riverside County sheriff's deputies assisted with crowd and traffic control, Hagemann said. Neither the displaced adult, nor the child was injured, but both were assisted by the American Red Cross.
