(VIDEO) The awning over the gas pumps at a Chevron station in Torrance collapsed Monday afternoon trapping two cars underneath.
It happened around 3 p.m. at a station in the 3900 block of Artesia Boulevard.
Two maintenance workers were on the roof and noticed some cracks, according to Capt. Steve Deuel with the Torrance Fire Department.
The workers were up there investigating the situation when the entire thing came down, Deuel stated.
One worker received a minor injury and was released at the scene.
The other worker was not injured but "got quite a ride," according to Deuel.
There were two cars underneath the awning when it collapsed, aerial video showed.
There were no injuries reported among customers.
