An early morning fire destroyed a Cal Fire equipment facility in San Luis Obispo. Fire officials say the fire started at 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning and took about an hour to put out. "Inside we had all of our equipment, bottles, air packs, our boots, our protective equipment, everything from new training materials, to building new training materials," says Johnny Miller, Public Information Officer for Cal Fire. Officials say the cost of the materials lost are around a half a million dollars. "The cost of all the material inside is going to be a significant blow but, we'll recover from it and move on that's what we train to do," says Miller. Before the fire, a 4,000 square foot facility stood in place. This is where firefighters came to do their training. "This is all training equipment so it would be issued to people on sight for training purposes," says Miller.
