Firefighters worked for nearly an hour to extinguish a blaze that caused an estimated $1.2 million in damage at a San Ysidro hotel Wednesday night, a fire official said. About 50 hotel guests were evacuated with no injuries, said Mónica Muñoz, spokeswoman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. She said the owner of the Travelodge was able to house the displaced guests in empty rooms in the hotel complex of separate buildings. An employee at the hotel on Calle Primera near Willow Road reported the blaze about 8:45 p.m.
