One firefighter was hurt Friday morning battling a blaze that engulfed one home and damaged a couple others near Lincoln High School. The blaze began about 4 a.m. at a home on H Street between 7th and 8th streets. A neighbor said she heard what sounded like gunshots before she looked out to see a home completely on fire. Power poles were also damaged by the blaze, and utility crews were out to repair those. There is no word on the extent of the firefighter's injuries. Everyone inside the homes got out safely. Firefighters gave credit to the police department, which already had an entire block evacuated before fire crews arrived. No additional details have been released.
