Firefighters returned Tuesday morning to a stretch of Highway 101 in Geyserville to finish off a series of fires that cropped up a day earlier. Cal Fire Battalion Chief Paul Fleckenstein Tuesday said crews would keep watch on the three burned areas, which totaled about a dozen acres, and make sure they are totally out. They were considered to be 100 percent contained and 80 percent controlled, he said. The fires appeared late Monday morning along the edge of southbound Highway 101 in a stretch of northern Sonoma County between Canyon Drive and Independence Lane. As many as six fires were reported initially, which then burned into three fires, officials said.
