A firefighter was injured in Monday afternoon's grass fire in unincorporated Napa County, according to Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department officials. The blaze, dubbed the Peak Fire, was reported at about 3 p.m. in the 2700 block of Atlas Peak Road. Napa County sheriff's officials initially said the fire was in the 2900 block of Atlas Peak Road.
The Cal Fire/Napa County firefighter was installing a "hose way" on a rock when he lost his footing and fell, hitting his arm on another rock, Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department Capt. Tiffany Mercado told Patch Tuesday morning.
"He was seen at a hospital and thought maybe broke it," Mercado said.
