Firefighters have contained a mobile home fire burning in the Casa De Flores Mobile Home Community in the 700 block of E. Lassen Avenue in Chico. According to Chico Fire Division Chief Jesse Alexander, a double wide mobile home was well involved when firefighters arrived on scene. Alexander said when he arrive on scene the homeowners advised him that everybody got out of the home safely but that the home had a large amount of ammunition inside. Due to ammunition firing off, firefighters had to take a defensive fire attack approach. The fire destroyed the double wide mobile home and damaged an outbuilding and vehicle. Alexander said the clean-up process is going to be very labor intensive due to the ammunition that continues to fire off and the heat.
