This morning, the Imperial County Board of Supervisors announced that current county Fire Chief Tony Rouhotas Jr. will be appointed as the new County Executive Officer following a candidate search that lasted about four months after the departure of former County Executive Ralph Cordova Jr. in mid-August. The decision was made during the board's closed session portion of today's meeting and made the official announcement at the start of the open session. Rouhotas was one of 22 candidates who expressed interest in the position.
