Auburn firefighter battling stage 4 cancer

After 27 years as a firefighter protecting lives and property, Trent Lindholdt, father, son, brother, and soon-to-be husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 malignant epithelial neoplasm cancer. Lindholdt, 47, started his firefighting career with the United States Fire Service,at the age of 20. Leaving the USFS, he worked in the communities of Lincoln and Rocklin. He was hired by the City of Auburn in 1997, where he has remained as an engineer on A shift. He is newly engaged, has a 22-year-old daughter and is currently in the process of adopting his fiancé’s 13-year-old daughter. On Nov. 27, Lindholdt underwent surgical removal of a tumor located on the cervical part of his spine.
