The Roripaugh Ranch Fire Station is set to finally open more than a decade after it was built. Temecula’s fifth fire station will begin operating on New Year’s Day. A public unveiling will follow on Saturday, Jan. 6. The station was finished in 2006 but never opened in part because the original Roripaugh Ranch housing developer abandoned the project during the economic recession. “It’s been a long-term vision,” City Manager Aaron Adams said. “There just wasn’t a great urgency to open the fire station because there weren’t any homes there.”
